We are a couple from Sweden who bought this fantastic 526 sqm large village house, in the picturesque small town of Cocentaina in 2015 and have since carefully renovated it. We were looking for a long time for a house that had many original details preserved and large enough to be converted into a Hostal Rural / B&B. In the end, the choice fell on this charming village house in the same village where we since 2008 ourselves have lived just a few blocks away.

The house has a long history and was called Tio siete pisos, about Uncle's seven apartments, but actually in Valenciano, the language spoken here (Casa del ti set pisos). There has previously been winemaking in the cellar and in the attic they had chickens, rabbits and in the cellar sheep and pigs. A number of families also lived here, among other things, the director of the local history museum was born here and he has told many interesting anecdotes about the house and its upbringing, which we are happy to share.

The renovation has become much more extensive than we thought and although we have done everything to maintain the character of the house while meeting all requirements of modern standards, we are obliged to inform that it has not been possible to adapt the building for disabled people. All rooms apart from the entrance are up one or two flights of stairs, without a lift or other aid.
