Cocentaina has a rich cultural life, some of the most important events are the Fiesta de los Nanos in late February or early March, the Mare de Dèu del Miracle in April, so ready Semana Santa - Easter, Moros y Cristianos in the first weekend in August and during Almost throughout July, there is a folk festival and training before this event every Saturday night and during All Saints' weekend "Fira de Todos los Santos" which each year attracts 350,000 visitors and has the status of a national cultural event. Every Thursday there is a market where you also try to buy as many local products as possible.
Otherwise, it may well be enough to stroll around the picturesque alleys of the old town, where parts of the old city walls remain, sit down at one of the many bars, cafes and restaurants, have a drink or a bite to eat.
Sierra Mariola National Park, excellent for both shorter walks on landscaped paths to more advanced day hikes such as the hiking trail up on Montcabarer the 1389 meter high mountain in the middle of the park. A little further away we have the wonderful walk along the river Serpis where you can also fish for rainbow trout.
